Blazers have gone from being a staple in business wear to being the new “it” item for streetstyle. In this case, I decided to mix both business and streetstyle for this interview look. Belts have ironically become my new favorite accessory, when just a few years ago I hated belts and accessories overall. They are such an easy way to add volume and interest to what could be a rather simple look. This blazer was a bit too big, so I added a belt bag from Aldo to cinch my waistline and make it look intentional. I love the quilted texture of the belt against the plaid blazer. Honestly, this blazer is a size 18 and I knew it would be too big. It was only $10.99 at H&M, so of course I had to buy it! I also decided to play around with some color-blocking to make this look complete. These faux patent leather booties emphasized the nude stripe in the blazer and the black belt bag made the black on black shirt and pants more modern and purposeful. A trend that I was hesitant to hop on was the tassel earring trend, because I try not to over-accessorize looks, as sometimes they can make a look feel too busy. They worked in my favor for this look and I love how they matched the tassel zipper on my belt bag. The best thing about this look is that everything was on a major sale, except for the belt. This Forever21 turtleneck was just $.99 (yes, you read that correctly), the H&M pants were $10, and the Forever21 booties were $9.99! The Aldo belt bag was full-price at $40. As I always say, being on trend does not mean you have to spend every dime in your bank account. I just ordered more affordable blazers, so be on the look out for more posts on different ways to style them!
XOXO,
