A hot topic right now is Black-owned brands and businesses and I am here for this movement! There are 5 brands I have been using within the past year that I absolutely love and decided to share. As a Black woman and someone who is passionate about branding, I love supporting small businesses that are “for us by us”. I am a person who sticks to what I know and as a shopper, I tend to not look elsewhere when I feel like I have hit the jackpot with a certain product. Let’s just say I hit the jackpot with every single one of these products and I will never look back. The best part- all of these amazing brands’ owners are Black women. Disclaimer: You will want to buy all of these products after reading my personal reviews, so get your coins ready!
BossBlendCoffee Co.: I was introduced to BossBlendCoffee last year and and it is by far my favorite coffee and the BEST coffee I have ever had. That is a profound statement by someone who has been an avid coffee drinker since the young age of 2 (my grandfather would leave me a drop of coffee every morning before he headed to work , so coffee is near and dear to my heart, as he was). After my first cup of BossBlendCoffee’s Culture Blend, I had the best day I had in a while and it was because my mood was enhanced with the perfect burst of energy and positivity. I joked with the owner that she had to put a secret happy ingredient in this coffee because I saw a drastic change to my day!
Range Beauty: I have been using Range Beauty’s Bali Full Body Glow for 6 months and it has become an essential part of my everyday skincare routine. I have dry skin so I love using oils on my face, some of which are used in this product. I instantly fell in love with this product because it left my skin so soft and glowy. I use this as a moisturizer under my foundation and it makes me look like I am glowing from within. I also use this every night after washing my face as well as in the morning. When I wake up, my skin feels soft, smooth and nourished. I have a feeling I am going to love this even more this summer!
Chic Geeks: I came across Chic Geeks on Instagram a while back and I was obsessed with their laptop and phone cases since I first laid eyes on them. If you know me, you know I am a sucker for anything animal print or texture. Their Black Faux Crocodile Macbook Case is not only chic (hence the name) and stylish, it is extremely high quality and durable. Although this is a bit more expensive than other accessories I normally buy, this case has gotten me much further than a case I bought from Amazon that cracked shortly after. I believe in quality over quantity and the quality of this product is unmatched. I use my laptop every single day, so this was definitely a beneficial purchase and I am getting all of the bang for my buck.
Flawless Natural Soaps: This is another skincare brand that I have been using for the past 6 months and has become a part of my daily routine. Flawless Natural Soaps’ Fearless soap contains charcoal and turmeric, which have completely transformed the hyperpigmentation and dark blotches I have had on my knees for years. I saw results in just a few days and have been using it ever since. I cannot believe the transformation I have seen! I didn’t know it was even possible for the dark spots to fade on my knees. This soap leaves my skin feeling and looking flawless and it is my go-to for making dark spots disappear!
Arcani Coil Care: Arcani Coil Care’s Enthroned Edges edge control is by far the best edge controls I have ever used and I have tried almost every brand you can find in your local beauty supply store. This product is unmatched in every way possible. Most edge controls I have used in the past are too oily and the hold does not last. The hold Enthroned Edges gives has literally lasted me for days. I never have to worry about sweating or rubbing my hair because it stays in place. I have even used this to do a sleek bun on my type 4 natural hair. This is a must-have hair essential, especially if you have natural hair and can never find a good edge tamer.
One of my goals is to be more intentional with my purchases and support brands that were created to support me, particularly small and emerging brands. If you purchase any of these products, I can guarantee you, you will not regret it! Feel free to comment any Black-owned brands that you use and support!
